We were very lucky to have Kansas City artist Rodolfo Marron III create the art for the Entanglement poster. Rodolfo shared some of the thought that went into this piece, entitled I Won't Search for the Sun at Night:
"Film has always been something I enjoyed sharing with a significant other. So the concept of the operas being based on romance in movies rang deeply with in. I started to think about love, cheesy romantic comedies, sweet chick flicks with Ryan Gosling or those quirky Wes Anderson odd attractions. With this piece I was inspired by something I use to do for my boyfriend. I would pick two flowers, give one to him and press the other for myself. Even after our breakup I continued this ritual of collecting wild flowers and pressing them. The flowers represented in the image for 'Entanglement' feature flowers from my own pressed collected and flowers native to Missouri. Flowers are this everlasting idea of love and romance. A space filled with various flowers hides a faint hand in the middle of it. There are other hands circling around offering seeds so that this world may flourish and grow. A tiny sprout springs in the center. Recalling that although the relationship may have ended; those memories are still there. With movies, when we see a certain scene, you are taken back to a specific place. A failed love can be very much like that. We remember it, we can almost smell the popcorn; touch it. Hands interlocked as we sit in front a big screen, watching movies. Just you and me."
